In the 1966 movie Born Free - based on Joy Adamson's account of her and her husband adopting (and later releasing) an orphaned lion in Kenya - there's a scene where Joy is sitting under a tree overlooking a beautiful savannah… and drawing. When I saw that scene as a young girl, I knew I wanted to travel and learn about other parts of the world …. and paint. What happened? I got an MA in anthropology, enjoy traveling, and have been painting or doing some form of art for most of my life.
After a hiatus working as a health and wellness coach, I'm shifting my primary focus back to art and painting. I mostly paint landscapes. I love how a landscape can capture a sense of place and time, transporting you to somewhere new and exciting, or reminding you of somewhere you love.
